Greenwich has been on our radar for quite a while, and we finally made it! It truly is a must-visit destination, offering a perfect blend of stunning scenery, beautiful art, iconic architecture, and rich history. From the panoramic views at the Royal Observatory to the maritime heritage at the National Maritime Museum, there’s so much to explore and enjoy. The Royal Observatory: It was awe-inspiring to stand on the Prime Meridian and immerse ourselves in the history of timekeeping and astronomy, all while enjoying the breathtaking views of London from the hilltop! The National Maritime Museum: We delved into the world’s largest maritime collection and uncovered fascinating stories of explorers, sailors, and naval battles that shaped Britain’s seafaring legacy. The Old Royal Naval College: The stunning Painted Hall, often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of the UK,” is a masterpiece of baroque art and an absolute must-see for everyone. The Queen’s House: This masterpiece of classical architecture houses comprises an impressive collection of fine art. We took a moment to marvel at the beautiful Tulip Stairs, an architectural wonder.
Next time, we’ll plan for a full day (or more!) to truly appreciate everything Greenwich has to offer. It’s an utterly enjoyable experience and highly recommended for history enthusiasts, art lovers, and anyone looking for a scenic escape from the city hustle.
